IT System Engineer
Focus on DC operation

Job description

As an IT systems engineer focussing on data centre operation, you will work predominantly at the Regensburg site, on the design and implementation of technical solutions both for in-house execution and for customers and partners. You possess well-grounded knowledge of server and network operation and ideally also of the certification of customary IT manufacturers.

You will assume responsibility for the design, implementation and operation of IT installations in our data centres and at customer and partner sites according to their requirements. Furthermore, you will also support the technical team with second and third level support, whilst the generation and maintenance of documentation will also be also part of your role along with structured fault analyses and rectification.

Through intensive customer communication and solution-orientated working methods, as well as your active participation in quality assurance and qualification processes in the project and support areas, you will make a considerable contribution to customer satisfaction.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Completed qualification as an IT specialist with a focus on system integration, an IT system electronics engineer or similar
  • At least three years of practical experience in DC operation
  • Assured handling of the conventional operating systems and server applications from the Microsoft sphere
  • Solid know-how in VMware technologies, above all in the field of server virtualisation
  • Good knowledge in the field of networks (switching, routing, VPN), email, active directory, SMTP, etc
  • Certification in an IT field desirable (e.g. MCP, VCP)
  • Knowledge of Linux / Unix systems advantageous
  • Self-assured manner when in contact with customers
  • Assured verbal and written communication in German and English
  • Structured, verifiable approach when generating concepts and presentation and in implementation and documentation

IT System Engineer
Focus on MS Exchange / VMware vSphere

Job description

As a central point of contact across the sphere of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and VMware virtualisation solutions, you will be responsible for the planning, installation and administration of complex environments as well as the further development of the solutions and the execution of maintenance activities. The portfolio maintained by you will encompass the areas of active directory, MS Exchange, storage, virtualisation as well as network and security in conjunction with other technical departments.
Furthermore, you will also provide help to 2nd and 3rd level support, analyse faults in the IT field autonomously and in a team, and implement workarounds and measures for rectifying causes. This will also include follow-up work and documentation.


The following tasks will be part of your everyday work:

  • Installation and configuration of client/server infrastructures in the AD field.
  • Planning, installation, administration of Exchange 2007/2010 environments for our customers
  • Further development and maintenance of our existing Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure
  • 2nd and 3rd level support to Exchange 2007/2010 environments
  • Migration of mailboxes from external systems to Exchange 2010
  • Generation and implementation of virtualisation concepts
  • Support to the team in the daily operation of the VMware environment
  • Organisation and execution of the data centre operation
  • Cooperation on projects as a technical point of contact
  • Development and maintenance of production and test environments
  • Generation of system documentation
  • Provision of training in the stipulated areas

Requirements: After obtaining a technical qualification or completing comparable training, as well as 2-3 years professional experience, you know possess sound knowledge of the described scope of this role. You possess deep knowledge across the sphere of Microsoft Active Directory, MS Exchange 2007 and 2010 as well as Microsoft Windows Server, VMware ESXi and vSphere. Ideally, you possess appropriate certification as a VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP). Your profile is completed by rollouts, the use of ticket systems as well as the logical application of organisational and technical skills within the framework of data protection. Your strengths lie in structured and conceptual thinking. You work autonomously, reliably and to deadlines, and you possess impressive communications skills. Furthermore, you also possess good English skills as well as a willingness to transfer knowledge within the team.

IT Security Consultant

Job description

As an IT Security Consultant you will work at the Regensburg site on the design and implementation of technical solutions for customers and partners, predominantly in the area of security. You possess deep knowledge of the IT security world and ideally also of certification of the customary IT security manufacturers.

You will assume responsibility for designing and implementing IT security installations at customers and partners according to their requirements and in our data centres. Furthermore, you will also support the technical team with second and third level support, whilst processes, project management and documentation, structured error identification and analysis as well as close communication with customers, sales personnel and manufacturers will also be part of your role.

Through intensive customer communication and solution-orientated working methods, as well as your active participation in quality assurance and qualification processes in the project and support areas, you will make a considerable contribution to customer satisfaction.


Requirements and qualifications

  • Completed university qualification in the field of Information Technology, Information Systems or training completed in an IT field (IT specialist, IT system electronics engineer)
  • At least three years of practical experience with security products in the fields of networks, firewalls, web security, email security, remote access
  • Extensive knowledge in the field of network switching, routing protocols, firewalling, content security, encryption processes, VPN, IPsec, PKI, etc
  • Experience in the areas of project management and IT compliance (BDSG, ISMS) desirable
  • Certification in an IT security field desirable (e.g. JNCIP, CISSP, or manufacturer such as Juniper, Checkpoint, Cisco Ironport, Bluecoat)
  • Assured handling of conventional operating systems from the Microsoft environment as well as Linux / Unix systems
  • Self-assured manner when in contact with customers
  • Assured verbal and written communication in German and English
  • Structured, verifiable approach when generating concepts, presentations, in implementation, documentation
